A little setup. A lot of freedom.

From download to desktop.

01

Set up your Windows PC

Extract the ZIP and open desklink.exe. For unattended access and the Windows sign-in screen, choose Install and approve the administrator prompt.

02

Secure your connection

Set a strong permanent password in Security settings. Keep your host ID and password private. If using your own server, enter its details on both devices.

03

Bring your desktop along

Open DeskLink on another Windows PC or Android phone. Enter your host PC’s ID, connect, and authenticate with your password.

Your host PC must stay powered on and online. No private relay is included. Remote sessions, service installation, and sign-in screen access still need testing on real devices. Read the setup guide ↗

Before you connect

A few useful details.

Know what’s included and what to set up.

Is there a usage time limit?

These DeskLink builds add no session timer. Connection availability and capacity depend on the ID and relay servers you use, your network, and your host PC. Unlimited public relay service is not included.

Can I connect after signing out of Windows?

The Windows host service is required for access to the sign-in screen. Install DeskLink with administrator approval and configure a permanent password. This build’s sign-out, reboot, and UAC behavior has not yet been tested on a physical host.

Do I need my own server?

No private server is bundled or deployed. Server settings remain configurable under Settings → Network. To self-host, configure an ID server and relay, then use matching server details and the public key on all your clients.

Why is Android downloaded as an APK?

This is a directly distributed, signed Android build rather than a Play Store listing. It supports 64-bit ARM devices running Android 7.0 or later. Only install the file from a source you trust; the checksums above let you verify your download.

Where can I find the source and license?

Download the source archive above for the modified client source, license notices, and build instructions. DeskLink is an independent modification of RustDesk, licensed under AGPL-3.0. It is not an official RustDesk or AnyDesk release.
